Airbag & SRS Light Repair in Englewood, CO
An airbag light that stays on means your car's Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) has found a fault and may not protect you the way it was designed to. At eForce Automotive Service we provide airbag light repair near me for drivers across the Denver area: we read the SRS fault, find the real cause and fix it — from a worn clock spring or seat sensor to full airbag module repair, crash-data clearing and programming. If your airbag light is on and needs repair, bring the car to our shop and we'll show you what is wrong before any work begins.
Why your airbag (SRS) light is on
The SRS computer checks every part of the system each time you start the car. When something is out of range, it stores a code and turns on the light. The most common causes we see:

- Clock spring — the coiled ribbon cable behind the steering wheel that connects the driver airbag. It wears out over time, especially after steering-wheel or column work.
- Seat sensors and occupant classification — the occupant sensor in the passenger seat tells the system whether to arm the passenger airbag. Spilled liquids, worn seats or a damaged mat trigger faults.
- Connectors and wiring under the seats — moving seats, cargo and cleaning can loosen or corrode the yellow SRS connectors.
- Seat belt pretensioners and buckle switches — a fired or faulty pretensioner keeps the light on.
- Crash data stored in the module — after a collision, even a minor one, many modules lock themselves with crash data and keep the light on until they are reset or replaced.
- Low voltage — a weak battery or charging problem can set SRS codes as a side effect.
SRS diagnosis
Guessing at airbag faults is expensive and unsafe, so every job starts with a proper SRS diagnosis. We connect professional scan equipment to read the stored and current codes from the airbag module, then test the circuit that the code points to: resistance of the airbag and pretensioner circuits, the clock spring, seat sensors, connectors and wiring. Because SRS problems are often electrical at heart, our auto electrical repair experience matters here — we trace the fault to the exact part or wire instead of replacing parts until the light goes out. For warning lights beyond the airbag system, see our car diagnostics page.
You get a clear explanation of what failed and what it takes to fix it.

Airbag module reset, crash-data clear & programming
After an accident, the airbag control module often holds crash data and will not let the light go out, even once damaged parts are replaced. In many cases the module does not have to be thrown away:
- Crash-data clear / SRS module reset after accident — we clear the stored crash data so the original module can be reused, when the module and vehicle allow it.
- Airbag control module programming — a replacement or reset module must be matched to your car's VIN and configuration. We handle this in-house as part of our module programming service.
- Module replacement — when a module is physically damaged or cannot be reset, we replace and program it.
Whether a reset is possible depends on the make, model and the module itself — we confirm it during diagnosis.
Is it safe to drive with the airbag light on?
When the airbag light is on, the system may have switched off part or all of its protection, which means the airbags or pretensioners might not deploy in a crash. The car will still drive normally, so the problem is easy to ignore — but the light is a signal to have the system checked soon, especially if you carry passengers or children. The good news is that most SRS faults are straightforward to find with the right equipment.

Pricing after diagnostics
SRS work starts with a diagnostic: the initial diagnostic is $100, and additional in-depth testing of a specific system or module starts at $50 each — we discuss it with you before proceeding. Repair pricing comes after diagnostics. Airbag module repair cost and airbag module replacement cost depend on several factors: what actually failed (a connector, a sensor, a clock spring or the module), whether your module can be reset or must be replaced, how many parts deployed in a crash, and your vehicle's make and model. Once we know the cause, you get a quote you can decide on — no surprises.
All makes — German SRS specialists
We work on SRS systems of all makes, and German cars are our specialty:

FAQ
Why is my airbag light on after an accident?
Most airbag modules store crash data when they detect a collision, and some lock the light on until that data is cleared or the module is replaced. Deployed airbags, fired seat belt pretensioners, or wiring and sensors damaged in the crash can also keep the light on. We read the module to see exactly which it is.
Can the airbag module be reset instead of replaced?
Often, yes. Many modules can have their crash data cleared and be reused, which avoids buying a new module. Some modules are damaged or designed so they cannot be reset — in that case we replace and program the module. We confirm which applies to your car during diagnosis.
Can a weak battery turn on the airbag light?
Yes. Low voltage during starting can cause the SRS module to store fault codes and turn on the light, even when every airbag part is fine. We check the battery and charging system as part of SRS diagnosis, so you don't replace airbag parts for what is really a voltage problem.
How long does airbag light repair take?
It depends on the cause. Repairs that need parts or a replacement module take longer; we will tell you the expected timing with your quote.
Do you replace deployed airbags?
Yes. We provide full SRS service: replacing deployed airbags and seat belt pretensioners, repairing wiring and sensors, and resetting or programming the airbag module so the system works and the light goes out.
